Up until the last six minutes, Husso had kept the Lightning scoreless, but Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point scored after Andrei Vasilevskiy had been replaced in goal with an extra attacker.
Husso made a total of 44 saves on 46 shots as Detroit won in Tampa Bay for just the third time in its previous 21 games, improving to 3-18-0.

Adam Erne and David Perron of Detroit scored into empty nets, while Michael Rasmussen and Jonatan Berggren scored at even strength. For the Red Wings, who are 6-2-1 in their last nine games, Filip Hronek and Andrew Copp each registered two assists.
Hronek extended his road point streak to 11 games with an assist on Rasmussen’s goal.
With 22 of 24 shots blocked, Vasilevskiy slipped to 13-2-0 all-time against the Red Wings. Stamkos extended his point run to 11 contests, but the Lightning dropped their second game in a row at home.
When the game was still 0-0 in the second period. Rasmussen gained inside position by rushing past Stamkos and receiving a pass from Dominik Kubalik. At 1:54, the 6-foot-6 centre launched a shot that deflected off Vasilevskiy’s glove.
In the final second of the middle period, Nicholas Paul, on one of the Lightning’s greatest scoring chances, stripped Lucas Raymond of the puck in the Detroit zone, skated in on Husso, and fired a strong shot off the left post. The puck, though, bounced out harmlessly, and the Red Wings went to the locker room leading 1-0.
When defenseman Olli Maatta fired a hard shot from close to the blue line at 5:59 into the third period. The visitors gained some separation. Berggren scored his third goal in just his 12th career game by deflecting the low slapper over Vasilevskiy. The secondary assister on the score was given to Joe Veleno.
