With his 200th NHL goal, Kyle Connor was the only goal scorer for the Jets (29-15-1), who ended a three-game winning streak.

Connor Hellebuyck recorded 24 saves while making four goals his own.

After an empty first frame, the Jets were the first to score. At 1:24 of the power play, Connor finished the one-timer in the right faceoff circle after receiving the ball from Josh Morrissey.

To end the second period, Montreal rallied with three goals in a row. Dadonov whipped in a one-timer from the bottom of the right faceoff circle after just a few seconds earlier missing an opportunity from the slot.

At 9:28, Hoffman beat Hellebuyck with a wrist shot to give the Habs their first lead of the game.

The Canadiens went up 3-1 when Dadonov jumped on Hellebuyck’s rebound to score his second goal of the contest.

Before the game, the Canadiens made the following injury reserve list additions: Juraj Slafkovsky (lower body), Joel Armia (upper body), and Jake Evans (lower body). The game was also missed by Jonathan Drouin, who was questionable for the contest due to an upper-body ailment. Sean Monahan, who has a lower body injury, was also placed on long-term injury reserve by the organisation.

The Habs’ return of defenseman Mike Matheson, who played his first game since December 17 was a plus. The native of Montreal was sidelined due to a lower-body injury.
